ATLAS OF THE PENULTIMATE DAWN

Places, Keeps & Realms

Libraries at the top of the world, rival strongholds, hidden Ether sites, impossible chasms, buried cities, and roads leading beyond the world everyone knows.

The Clan World

  • The Twilight Library — Jamith’s remote center of learning and one of the greatest repositories of lost religious and historical knowledge.
  • Scarlatti Keep — crimson court of spectacle, rank, politics, and the Grand Feast of Rahim.
  • Azuran Keep & Azureheim — waterfall court of Clan Azura and seat of Lord Azura’s royal line. Beneath and around its ancient landscape lies the mysterious Eternal Well, once associated with flowing Potation.
  • Dorian Keep — mountain labyrinth of the Dorians, hidden within the very geography it occupies.

The World Fissure

The World Fissure is both geographical wound and theological mystery. Ancient accounts connect it with Rahim’s fall, while its depths hold pure Essence, forgotten shrines, traces of the Fissure Folk, and truths that reshape the cycle’s understanding of creation.

The Hidden Ether World

  • Orange Keep — concealed Ether stronghold tied to Juliana, Sarchat, and the ancient binding of the races.
  • Emerald Keep — underground stronghold later associated with Sven and the Remnant.
  • The Purple Pool — hidden site of transformation where Jamith and the Purple Aspect create the Revs.
  • The Divine Keep — lunar stronghold associated with the Soul Cleavers and the ultimate work of binding or separating the Aspects.

The Post-Flight Realm

Major Book Three spoilers: the old three-Clan map gives way to cities and strongholds drawn from an older layer of history.

  • The Sanctuary — ancient eastern city raised by the Dark vessel and transformed into the center of his new order.
  • The Citadel — western counterpart restored by Azil and the Remainder as a defensive stronghold.
  • The Realm After the Wrath — overview of the settlements, factions, hidden communities, and new political geography that emerge during Azil’s absence.

After the Dawn

Beyond the Familiar Realm

The Flight proves that the mountains are not the edge of existence. Azil’s journey to a devastated neighboring realm and the later breach made by the Mage Titan open the setting outward, revealing a larger creation containing other worlds, other divine beings, and dangers such as the Bone King.
