A Library in Twilight
The Twilight Library is one of the great surviving repositories of knowledge from the ages before the Penultimate Dawn. Jamith considers its name painfully appropriate: the wider world has fallen into ignorance, while the Library preserves just enough light to offer hope before the long night ends.
The Inscription
When Jamith arrives, a newer inscription stands among the older faded writings at the entrance: a warning that what has been bound must eventually be undone. The line becomes one of the earliest clues that the world’s apparent religious order rests upon an ancient binding rather than a natural state.
Jamith’s Research
Inside the Library, Jamith uncovers liturgical fragments, mural rooms, correspondence, and records associated with Timotheus, Sarchat, the Aspects, and the lost history of Rahim. His work demonstrates that the surviving Clan traditions are not simply incomplete—they often preserve only the portion of history that later institutions allowed to remain.
A Labyrinth of Abandoned Knowledge
The Library is physically vast and disorienting: a maze of corridors, stairways, chambers, books, scrolls, and scraps left behind after the disappearance of its former inhabitants. By the end of The Hunger, Azil reaches its halls without Jamith beside him, turning the place from intellectual refuge into a monument to absence.
