About Michael D. Young
Michael D. Young grew up traveling the world as the son of a military father — which may explain why so many of his characters can’t seem to stay home either. Today he lives in Utah with his wife, Jen, and their three children, where he writes fantasy novels, musicals, and devotionals, and sings with the Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square. Before joining the Choir, he played for several years with the handbell choir Bells on Temple Square.

He is the author of the comedic family-friendly series A Wonderful Week for a Quest, the epic Penultimate Dawn Cycle, The Last Archangel Series, The Chess Quest Series, and The Canticle Chronicles. His non-fiction includes An Advent Carols Countdown, Sacred Days, Sacred Songs, O Say, Can You Sing?, The Song of the Righteous, As Saints We Sing, and The Song of the Saints.
His shorter work has appeared in publications including Bards and Sages Quarterly, Mindflights, Allegory, Meridian, Liahona, and the Ensign. Off the page, Michael holds degrees in German Teaching, Music, Educational Leadership, and Instructional Design from Brigham Young University and Western Governors University, creates online curriculum for BYU, and acts in community theater whenever a stage will have him.
