A Chamber Inside the Mountain
The Purple Pool lies in a dark mountain complex reached through tunnels where black stone and glowing purple mineral hint at the power gathering within. The cave eventually opens into a natural amphitheater surrounding a dark pool.
The Gathering of the Mals
Mals from across the Realm are drawn toward the site by visions, the Thirst, and the promise that someone finally understands the need consuming them. Evelet discovers rows of them gathered around the water, chanting while Jamith—now bearing the Purple Aspect—rises above the pool in violet light.
A Promise to Quench the Thirst
The Purple Aspect exploits a genuine deprivation. It offers belonging, nourishment, and restoration to people whom the rest of society has rejected, but the promised answer demands submission and sacrifice rather than healing.
Birthplace of the Revs
The pool becomes the site of the Rev transformation. A Mal enters the ritual physically distorted and emerges remade—more symmetrical, more powerful, unnaturally colored, and marked by the secondary-color triad. What appears to restore the body instead binds the transformed person more tightly to the corrupt power answering the Thirst.
