A Keep Hidden from the Surface World
The Orange Keep belongs to the forgotten network of Ether strongholds that mirrors the three familiar Earthman Keeps. Its existence is largely erased from later memory, and even knowledgeable characters initially know it only through theory and fragmented Aspect recollection.
Location
The entrance lies on a wooded island in the center of a great southern lake. Reaching the Keep requires passage through water-filled tunnels, gates, and a descending labyrinth that leads deep below the surface.
Queen Juliana
The Golden Aspect remembers the Keep as a seat of Juliana, Queen of the Ethermen. That connection makes the site a surviving landmark from the period before Earthmen and Ethermen were bound together.
The Binding Chamber
The Keep becomes crucial in The Thirst because evidence indicates that Sarchat’s binding of the two races occurred there. Evelet, Reshel, Timotheus, and their companions descend into its forgotten chambers seeking a way to separate what history forcibly joined.
