GOVERNANCE AFTER THE DAWN

Rahim’s Throne

A palace of three colors replaces the old rivalry of Clan thrones with a shared center of authority.

Major epilogue spoilers: this entry describes the political order decades after The Longing.

The Palace of Three Colors

Behind the Realm Museum in New Scarlatti Keep rises the palace known as Rahim’s Throne. Its stonework deliberately highlights all three colors of the former Clans, making the building itself a statement about the end of exclusive Clan rule.

Rahim’s Presence

Rahim returns to the palace on yearly visits. His presence gives the building its name and places the restored Fashioner within the civic life of the Realm without requiring him to remain its constant administrator.

The Chosen Vessels

Between Rahim’s visits, the palace serves as the seat of power for his chosen vessels. The arrangement preserves vesselhood as a form of service while moving it away from the dynastic courts that once tied magical authority to heredity and Clan privilege.

One Realm, Not One Clan

Rahim’s Throne is significant precisely because it is not simply a restored Scarlatti, Azuran, or Dorian palace. Its combined colors and its place beside institutions of art and memory embody the larger promise of the Dawn: unity that does not require erasing the histories that came before it.
