Book Three of A Wonderful Week for a Quest
A Quest That Doesn’t Go…Well
A cruel villain. A cursed wish. A heroic plan with several obvious defects.
Sir Roderick finally gets the quest he has been craving—and discovers that a wishing well can grant exactly what he asks for while still ruining nearly everything.
This Quest Contains
Nathan the Needler
A villain who can reduce almost anyone to helplessness using nothing more than precisely chosen words.
A Cursed Wishing Well
It grants Sir Roderick the power he requests—and quietly prepares an invoice he cannot afford.
An Unusual Strike Team
Sir Roderick must gather allies whose talents include investigation, survival, insults, and several methods no knightly handbook recommends.

The Story
Be Careful What You Wish For—Especially Near a Well
Sir Roderick is living the high life, but comfort cannot satisfy a knight who longs for dragons, villains, and another opportunity to make an entrance. The Elven Bureau of Investigation soon provides one: it still needs the Beandom’s most-wanted list recovered.
The investigation brings him face-to-face with Nathan the Needler, a man who can bring his victims to their knees with devastating verbal attacks. Desperate for protection, Sir Roderick makes a wish at a cursed well and gains the resistance he needs—without realizing how steeply the well intends to collect.
Power alone is not enough. Sir Roderick must assemble a team, confront the Needler’s crimes, and finish the mission while the well’s curse tightens around him. For perhaps the first time, the kingdom’s most confident knight may have to become something more difficult than impressive: wise.

Readers Went to the Well
“As usual, the footnotes were a hoot… This story has everything—zombies, a golem, expert oxymorons, a hummingbear, Elves, a questionable wishing well, and much, much more.”
Amazon reviewer
“I enjoyed the third book in the series as much as the first two… I liked the character arc for Sir Roderick. The trials he has undergone have made him a more fascinating character.”
