The Story
Can an Old Villain Learn New Tricks?
ELM wants a new reputation. At a Villains Anonymous meeting, he hears about a quest that might finally let him leave a positive mark on the Beandom: recover Leftbeard’s Treasure, a legendary collection of stolen left socks gathered from across the kingdom.
The trouble is that everyone who knew where the treasure went is long dead. ELM therefore enlists Grandmother Grimma, an expert necromancer with the unusual ability to turn a graveyard into a research department.
But heroism does not fit ELM as comfortably as a black cloak. As the hunt grows stranger and more dangerous, he feels the pull of his old habits. Unless he can choose a better path, his great heroic rebranding may end exactly where it began: with a villain, a failed plan, and one mysteriously missing left sock.
