The Mortal Who Changed Xandir
Xandir encounters Sempre—called Siempre in the revised prequel—while moving through ancient Italy. Her beauty catches his attention, but it is her music, intelligence, and humanity that hold it. Their relationship crosses the boundary the Watchers were forbidden to cross and becomes one of the defining choices of his life.
More Than a Memory
Centuries after her death, Xandir still measures temptation against the possibility of seeing her again. Illusions of her can disarm him more effectively than many physical enemies, and Ganosh’s promise that the Giants can restore her becomes the one offer powerful enough to pull Xandir toward a catastrophic bargain.
Deep Canon · Major Spoilers
Master Mahan genuinely restores her mortal body, but the reunion is brief. She gives birth to Xandir’s Giant daughter, Clara, and dies soon afterward. When Jubal later offers to call her soul back again, Xandir finally refuses. He accepts that her proper place is no longer with him on Earth, marking a crucial break in the cycle of possession and desperation that has governed him for centuries.
