A River Made of Fire

The Magma Flow runs through immense underground passages near Serche. Giant vessels travel directly on the molten river using systems that draw heat from the lava, convert stored water to steam, drive pistons, and then condense the water back into the ship’s tanks.

A Dangerous Transit Route

The Flow is not empty. Verdemons patrol the channel and can attack vessels from the lava itself. For Jarom, the journey becomes his first direct encounter with demons and his first demonstration of Jubal’s battle-altering music.

Road to the Doomed City

The river eventually brings travelers within sight of Serche, suspended over the giant whirlpool called the Jaws. This makes the Magma Flow a literal transportation route through the borderlands between Nod, the doomed city, and the infernal threshold below it.
