Rayden and the Roderick Legacy

Rayden, potion master and eldest heir of Sir Roderick XIII

CHARACTERS OF DEATH/WISH

Rayden

Potion master · eldest heir · reluctant quest leader

The Knight Who Became a Potion Master

Rayden closely resembles the original Sir Roderick and grew up expecting to continue the family’s knightly tradition. Instead, his life leads him behind a potion counter. His shop sells practical enchantments, questing supplies, bravery drafts, and emergency Poof Powder, while he quietly continues wondering what kind of hero he might have become.

First in Line for the Curse

As Sir Roderick XIII’s eldest son, Rayden receives Goblin Pox when his father passes the burden onward before the Titan battle. The curse later moves through his siblings. Rayden devotes years to developing a potion that might cure it, making Hubert’s arrival both a family reunion and the deadline he has always feared.

The Lively Relics

The legendary equipment of the Roderick line disappears after Sir Roderick XIII’s supposed death. Rayden’s resemblance, inheritance, and knowledge place him at the center of the search. When the Lurker escapes, Rayden is asked to lead the party pursuing it while the kingdom enters a succession crisis.

Chronicler’s note: Rayden’s heroism does not begin when he finds armor. It begins in the years spent trying to make a cure no one else believed would arrive in time.
