A Legal Final Request

Hubert arrives at Sir Jacques Dawkins’s estate with a prognosis of certain death and invokes the ancient law of the death wish. A licensed Wish Warden must fulfill such a request when it falls within the law and the warden’s abilities.

The Family He Never Knew

Hubert does not ask for treasure, revenge, or a miraculous feast. He asks to meet his family. Raised apart from the legendary Roderick line, he learns that he is the seventh child in a scattered generation whose members include potion makers, scholars, performers, accountants, outlaws, and protectors.

The Last Bearer

Goblin Pox has already moved through Hubert’s older siblings before reaching him. Although he believes his death will finally end the hereditary curse, the family reunion reveals hidden choices, missing relics, and a larger force that has shaped the Roderick descendants for generations.
