A Guardian Mostly Unseen

The Antidote
When Xandir loses the antidote he intended for Judy, Jertel quietly arranges for it to be found and brought back into reach. The intervention does not solve Judy’s struggle for her; it gives her the opportunity to make her own final choice.

After Judy dies, Jertel is the first being to greet her spirit. He explains that watching over her has been his task and that escorting her onward is now his privilege. Their exchange also plants the idea that Judy herself may someday serve as a guardian angel.
