History & the Nine Ages
Nine historical sections. Nine stages in Xandir’s long exile. One road leading steadily toward The Last Archangel.
Terminology note: Age of Archangels calls these nine units parts or historical sections. “Nine Ages” is this encyclopedia’s reader-friendly organizing label, not an in-world technical term.
The Nine Historical Sections
- Giant Problems — the Watchers, early humanity, and the rise of the Giants
- Giant Solutions — Xandir’s punishment and the beginning of his Destroying Angel service
- The Other Plagues — ancient Egypt and Xandir’s work among plagues and judgments
- Whale of a Tale — Jonah, Nineveh, and the first major Serche revelations
- Shadow of Vesuvius — Pompeii, the Fortuna family, Hades, and Sempre
- Sower and Supplanter — a medieval monastery and a supernatural contest of planted consequences
- Year of the Yeti — Yeahrti, Europe, and a demonic occupation centered on London
- Stupid Cupid — Q-PED, Phillip Fortuna, Sarah Fox, and the family line Heaven must protect
- Snake in the Grass — the Adversary plague and the final prequel crisis
A Character Arc Measured in Centuries
The chronology matters because Xandir does not become compassionate in a single revelation. Across the nine sections, he moves from bored celestial observer to punished Destroying Angel, reluctant servant, wounded lover, uneasy protector, and finally an angel capable of choosing mercy when destruction would be easier.
