Xandir’s new life begins with orders he cannot simply refuse. Resistance produces escalating pain, and his first assignments teach him that his sentence is not symbolic: he must carry out judgments whether or not he agrees with them.

Justice and Mercy Begin to Split

The surviving Giants force Xandir to confront the weakness in collective judgment. Even when a decree names them enemies, he repeatedly hesitates when an individual appears helpless, complicated, or capable of something other than violence.

The Long Exile Begins

This age establishes the pattern that will define Xandir for centuries: Heaven gives him destructive power, while experience keeps teaching him that moral judgment is rarely as simple as the assignment sounds.
