Hans
Siegfried’s apprentice and survivor of the Dunkelwald.
Hans competes against his younger brother Caspar for the chance to train under Siegfried. Though Caspar has worked harder, Hans wins the final trial and becomes the knight’s apprentice, an outcome that deeply affects both brothers.
The Dunkelwald
Hans later joins a search party led into the Dunkelwald by Thantos. The mission ends in disaster, and Hans is deliberately spared so he can carry news of the attack back to the queen.
Caspar’s Last Warning
While recovering, Hans encounters Caspar’s lingering spirit in a dream. Caspar reveals Thantos’s identity as Jorgen Müller and directs Hans to a hidden portrait of Klara. Hans gets the portrait to Siegfried, providing the crucial clue that changes the confrontation with Jorgen.
