They Prepare the Way
Elsere explains that Sappers do not take over human bodies themselves. Their role is to weaken the mind and dishearten the soul so that ordinary demons can slip through defenses that would otherwise resist them.
Darts With Different Purposes
Sapper weapons are specialized. One dart can strip away courage at a crucial moment; rarer shard darts can carry concentrated anguish. Their art is based on subterfuge, making a mortal’s failure look like a purely internal collapse.
Class Versus Individual
“Sapper” is the name of a class of beings, not the personal name of the particular Sapper who opposes Elsere and Xandir. The existing character profile focuses on that individual antagonist; this page explains the broader type.
