An Order Born from Repeated Crisis

The Five Knights arose in the ancient years of the Canticle Kingdom after the first appearance of the dark wizard. Rather than serve as ordinary soldiers, they developed magical skill powerful enough that their combined strength could repeatedly drive him away.

The Covenant

The five made a binding promise to live in seclusion for as long as they could so that they would remain available to protect the kingdom. Their role therefore depended on endurance, secrecy, and collective action rather than public glory.

Inheritance and Succession

Believing the enemy finally defeated, the knights eventually decided that each needed a family so their responsibility could pass to another generation. That plan reveals that the order was never meant to end with its founders.

The Fracture

The order’s greatest failure came when political conflict divided the five. Johann’s father, their captain, and Siegfried sided with the people, while other members supported the new queen. Once the defenders turned their power against one another, the institution that had repeatedly saved the kingdom became part of its civil catastrophe.
