After the climactic events of the novel, Eden is taken to a remote refuge in the Himalayas. The mountain setting puts extraordinary distance between her family and ordinary civilization while giving Heaven room to maintain a visible protective perimeter.

Guarded from Earth and Heaven

Celestial patrols move through the mountains around the refuge. The isolation is reinforced by a more unusual neighbor: Yeahrti lives nearby and checks on Eden’s household from time to time, giving the sanctuary both heavenly and terrestrial protection.

A Place for the Story to Begin Again

The refuge is not presented as a permanent retreat from the series. It is a protected pause at a moment when the larger End has begun and Eden’s family has become more important than ever. Judy’s return as Eden’s guardian angel confirms that the household remains part of Heaven’s active concern.
