Fallen Watchers
Angels Who Crossed the Boundary
- Nature: angels, not demons
- Original office: Watchers of Earth
- Known fallen Watchers: Azazel, Absalom, Samyaza/Hades, and others
- Offenses: forbidden unions, unlawful revelations, and related rebellion
Falling Is Not One Single Crime
The Watchers do not all fall in exactly the same way. Some form forbidden relationships with mortals. Others reveal knowledge Heaven had forbidden them to teach. Their judgments therefore arise from related but distinct violations of their office.
Still Angelic in Nature
A fallen Watcher is not automatically a demon. Samyaza, later known as Hades, remains identifiable as a fallen Watcher centuries after his rebellion. Fallen angels can retain angelic abilities, knowledge, and even mechanisms such as Angelic Covenants.
The Watcher Crisis Changes Xandir
Xandir’s own punishment is tied to aiding Azazel and to the collective failures of the Watchers. The fall of his former order becomes the event that turns his original celestial career into millennia of compulsory service.
