The Child Xandir Never Expected to Meet
Clara is the Giant daughter of Xandir and Sempre. Her restored mother gives birth in Master Mahan’s stronghold, making Clara both the child of Xandir’s forbidden ancient relationship and a potential key to the continuation of the Giant race.
A Name Chosen Against the Darkness
Sempre names her Clara because she hopes the child will be a bright spot in a darkening world. The name becomes especially poignant because Clara is born in a place where Master Mahan immediately sees her as a resource for his own plans.
Jarom’s New Charge
Xandir cannot safely take Clara with him when he escapes. Jarom remains behind and hides her in the Realm of Nod, feeding her from his dwindling supply of ambrosia and treating her as an unexpected apprentice. His nickname for her is simple: “my little light.”
Why Clara Matters
Clara turns the Giant question from abstract theology into family. For Xandir, the beings once described as a dangerous race now include his own child. For Jarom, protecting her becomes a continuation of everything he has learned about mercy and responsibility.
