From Heavenly Bakery to Earthside Danger

Jarom comes from the Elysian Fields and belongs to the Order of Ambrosia, a heavenly baking guild. A celestial draft pulls even cherubs into active service, and Jarom is assigned to Xandir despite having never before worked Earthside.

His family’s ambrosia-filled manna turns out to be far more useful than Xandir first expects: the cakes possess potent restorative properties and become emergency supplies during the mission.

The Apprentice as Moral Counterweight

Jarom is inexperienced but not useless. His caution, empathy, and willingness to ask uncomfortable questions often counter Xandir’s impatience. In Serche, where corruption is literally recorded on the Sin Shrouds worn by its inhabitants, Jarom frequently recognizes dangers that Xandir would rather laugh off.

Captured, Tested, and Changed

Jarom’s disappearance drives much of the opening conflict. His time among the Giants and his journey with Jubal expose him to demons, ancient fallen powers, and moral temptations he had only known as stories in Heaven.

Deep Canon · Spoilers

Jarom proves capable of acting independently when the final crisis arrives. He helps protect the innocent at precisely the moment Xandir’s larger mission fractures, showing that the apprentice has grown into a defender in his own right rather than merely Xandir’s comic foil.
