The Voice Xandir Cannot Ignore
The High Seraph repeatedly descends from Heaven to give Xandir new work, evaluate what he has done, and remind him that his Destroying Angel service has conditions. Their conversations are often combative: Xandir answers authority with sarcasm while the Seraph responds with impatience and formal celestial power.
Assignments with Moral Weight
His most consequential orders are not simply destructive. He assigns Xandir to protect Eden Fortuna as a Guardian, warns that Eden’s danger will physically burn Xandir’s hands, and pushes Xandir toward responsibilities that require more than force.
Keeper of the Larger Perspective
The High Seraph knows more about Xandir’s sentence and heavenly status than Xandir himself remembers. That imbalance makes him frustrating but also essential: he is one of the few characters positioned to judge Xandir’s progress across centuries rather than in a single crisis.
Deep Canon · Major Spoilers
When Xandir’s exile ends, the High Seraph is the one who restores the truth of his identity. He welcomes him back as Archangel Uriel and personally escorts him across the divide into mortal life. The scene reveals that beneath centuries of irritation, the High Seraph has been supervising a rehabilitation rather than merely administering punishment.
