The Violent Giant Faction
Brekt distinguishes the Giants of Nod from his own people in the strongest possible terms: Master Mahan is their shepherd and cruelty defines their way of life. Their warriors bear a dark forehead mark resembling the mark of their master.
From Nod to the Brotherhood
Centuries later, the same surviving power is referred to as the Brotherhood of Nod. Demons still regard the Brotherhood as a formidable military force, even while treating its alliance as temporary and expendable.
A Separate Power Center
The Brotherhood is not simply part of the demonic hierarchy. It bargains and allies with demons when useful, but pursues Master Mahan’s own agenda, including the recovery and cultivation of the Tree of Death.
