The Fiery Serpents
- Appearance: slender, vividly striped, flame-like serpents
- Behavior: cluster around inhabited areas
- Bite effect: transmits demonic taint
- Secondary danger: can lead to demon blight and possession
A Plague With a Purpose
The Adversaries are not ordinary snakes. Their bites infect mortals with a supernatural taint that weakens resistance and prepares the victim for possession.
Easy to Kill, Hard to Stop
Xandir discovers that individual serpents die readily under his swords, but destroying them one by one does not solve the crisis. New swarms appear, forcing him to investigate their source rather than treating symptoms.
A Bridge Between Creature and Strategy
The serpents matter because they turn a demonic invasion into a chain reaction: bite, blight, weakened defenses, possession. The threat is therefore strategic rather than merely physical.
