Who Is Will?

Will is the genial but wary master of a hidden tower high above the Frozen Mountain. He welcomes Richard and Nachtigal as fellow musicians because only someone attuned to music can even find the tower’s true entrance.

Inside, Will tends an enormous pipe organ, a collection of armored warrior statues, and a doorway crowned by enchanted Meistersingers. When someone crosses the threshold, the carved musicians perform a leitmotif that reflects that person’s character.

The Tower as an Instrument

Will’s home makes music architectural. Doors sing, statues wait for magical animation, jeweled plates store power, and the organ can channel enough energy to change the fate of an entire mountain. Will understands how dangerous those systems can become and is notably reluctant to awaken his warriors unless absolutely necessary.
