Feder

The High Priest’s Loyal Companion

Spoiler level: Through The Frozen Globe

Quick Reference

  • Role: Assistant and loyal companion to the High Priest
  • Leader: Strahl
  • People: The Ayr of Burgenring
  • Temperament: Practical, skeptical, loyal, quick-witted
  • First major appearance: The Frozen Globe

Who Is Feder?

Feder serves beside Strahl during the most dangerous stage of Burgenring’s crisis. Where the High Priest tends toward faith, dignity, and acceptance, Feder responds with questions, jokes, and an instinct to keep looking for an escape route.

His practicality does not weaken his loyalty. When death appears unavoidable, Feder continues digging long after hope has thinned. Only when Strahl chooses to face what he believes is the will of Ayr does Feder finally rise and stand beside him.

Loyalty Without Blindness

Feder matters because he follows Strahl without simply echoing him. He questions, worries, teases, and disagrees, giving the High Priest a companion rather than a worshipful subordinate. His presence humanizes Burgenring’s religious hierarchy and shows that devotion can include doubt.
