Who Is Strahl?
Strahl is the aging High Priest of the Frozen Mountain, a spiritual and political leader trying to hold together a people who have been cut off from the wider world for generations. The invisible barrier surrounding their home has become both a physical prison and a test of faith.
By the time the events of The Frozen Globe reach their crisis, Strahl’s health is failing and his authority is under pressure. His people are restless, his rivals are maneuvering, and old fears of outside threats remain powerful enough to make freedom itself controversial.
Faith at the Edge of Disaster
Strahl believes deeply in the Great Spirit Ayr and interprets even catastrophe through that faith. When escape seems impossible and destruction closes in, he chooses to meet his fate without abandoning the convictions that have ordered his life.
That surrender is not simple weakness. It highlights the difference between Strahl and Silber: one sees authority as stewardship under a greater power, while the other increasingly treats power as something to seize and expand.
