A Living Inheritance

The Lively Relics are powerful magical objects passed through the descendants of Sir Roderick 3RG and Bellissimo. By the Refried era, they represent far more than useful equipment: possession of them can restore a family’s reputation, empower a political claimant, or let a celebrity hero manufacture legitimacy.

Known Relics

  • The Visibility Cloak: Displays whatever is most alluring to each observer, trapping attention rather than concealing the wearer.
  • The Azure Amulet: A large blue gem in a circular setting capable of suppressing Hubert’s fever and slowing Goblin Pox.
  • The Peevestone: A smooth iridescent stone tied to the family’s surviving magic and Regina Lunamina’s guardianship.
  • The Gripper Gauntlets: Enormous golden hands that seize victims, strike with immense force, and tear portals through space.
  • Roderick’s Sword and Armor: Martial relics inseparable from the public image of the knightly line.

Lost, Hidden, and Stolen

After Sir Roderick XIII disappears, his children inherit uncertainty about where the relics went. Phillip suspects JABB; Zella fears the family will fade without them; Regina searches outside the law; and Jacques follows records, museum clues, and the map hidden on the Declaration of Dependence.

What Makes a Hero?

The relic hunt asks whether inherited objects create greatness or merely magnify whoever holds them. Rayden longs for the life they symbolize, JABB uses them as proof of authority, and Hubert demonstrates courage while owning none of them.

Chronicler’s note: A lively relic is an object that refuses to remain safely in a display case—or in the hands of anyone sensible.
