The Declaration of Dependence

The Scarlet Lily, seeker of the hidden Declaration of Dependence

FOUNDATIONAL DOCUMENTS

The Declaration of Dependence

Historic treaty · museum forgery · locating spell · hidden map

A Foundational Agreement

The Declaration bears the signatures of emissaries from many Beandom factions and records the interdependence established after the original quests. Its awkward title reflects a realm that has never been entirely comfortable admitting how thoroughly its peoples rely on one another.

The Museum Forgery

The Donlon Museum displays an excellent copy rather than the original. The Scarlet Lily detects the forgery through its handwriting—most notably a pixie signature whose dotted letters fail to follow traditional heart-shaped punctuation.

The Hidden Original

The authentic Declaration rests in a concealed transparent vault beneath a movable stone. Reaching it requires solving the museum’s puzzle, surviving enchanted dragonskin boots, and deciding whether cooperation between an immortal Wish Warden and a wanted outlaw counts as law enforcement or a very complicated heist.

The Map on the Back

A locating spell and map are inscribed on the reverse as a safeguard in case the document is lost. The spell can also lead seekers toward lost objects. Once the information reaches JABB, it reveals the hiding place of the Visibility Cloak.

Chronicler’s note: A document called the Declaration of Dependence was perhaps always destined to require several people, a theft, and enchanted footwear.
