The Ruler Behind the Dark Side
Nemes embodies the ancient Nemesis tradition from which generations of opposing knights descend. When Rich finally receives an audience with the Sovereigns, Nemes proves less interested in softening old grievances than in remembering the battles that came afterward.
A Feud That Outlived Its Cause
Nemes admits that he no longer remembers how the original dispute began. What remains are centuries of remembered wrongs—enough, in his mind, to justify continuing the fight even after the beginning has disappeared from memory.
Deep Canon · Waning Sovereign
The moonstone once sustained the Nemes family’s power, but the prolonged conflict has drained that inheritance. Nemes and Palad are therefore forced to confront a threat their old rivalry has helped make possible: Temperance and the Gray Knight now possess access to a power base stronger than either family can command alone.
