Count Percy von Drake

St. George’s Nemesis

  • Role: historic Nemesis
  • Paladin counterpart: St. George
  • Appearance: black armor with red flame-like inlays and a dragon-shaped helmet
  • Past connection: he and George knew each other long before their final rivalry

A Nemesis in Dragon Armor

Percy embraces the dark side of the paired quest with theatrical enthusiasm. He finishes his four opposing deeds rapidly and repeatedly tries to pressure George into fighting before the Paladin has completed all four of his own quests.

Rivalry With a History

Their conflict is more complicated because George and Percy are not strangers. George remembers years of shared adventures and conversations before the two became opposing champions. The Nemesis role therefore does not erase personal history—it forces that history into a new and painful shape.

A Pattern Rich Will Inherit

George and Percy’s story foreshadows Rich’s later experience. A Paladin and Nemesis can challenge one another, strengthen one another, resent the rules, and still remain connected by memories that do not fit neatly into a simple good-versus-evil label.
