Who Is Father Roleni?

Father Roleni presides over the Council of Tones, the seven-member religious authority governing the Dolorii. His dark robes, grave manner, and absolute certainty immediately distinguish him from Cahni’s smoother hospitality.

To Roleni, the arrival of sacred pilgrims is not merely fortunate. It is an opportunity to offer the greatest possible sacrifice on the eve of the Sanctuary’s passage and thereby secure the blessing his people have pursued for generations.

The Doom Tone

Roleni demonstrates that the Dolorii priesthood commands more than ceremony. With a clenched fist and a single impossibly low note, he can pronounce what his people call the Doom Tone—a musical judgment so frightening that those around him believe the victim’s soul has been lost.
