Jackdaw’s Essential Counterweight

Petra is Michelle’s sister and one of the Merriweather women transformed into living stone. She becomes Jackdaw’s apprentice, teasing him when his pride runs away with him while also mastering the practical work he neglects. During the competition she carries a clipboard, coordinates auditions, and communicates through a gold-rimmed handheld magic mirror she calls her “handy.”

The Disappearance

Petra accompanies Bell to investigate Felgarath at the Royal Library, but vanishes before the Battle begins. Jackdaw’s mounting worry reveals that their sarcastic partnership has become genuine affection and trust.

Precht’s Vessel

After the Netherworld breach, a jagged streak of purple and scarlet energy chooses Petra as a vessel. The possession restores her flesh while placing Precht inside her, turning a long-desired transformation into a dangerous cliffhanger for Book Seven.
