THE OLD WAY OF RAHIM
The Threefold Path
Strength, swiftness, and sight form the recurring triad behind the Realm’s magic, worship, and competing traditions of service.
Three Gifts, One Path
The Threefold Path consists of strength, swiftness, and sight. The same three attributes appear in ordinary magic, in the primary Aspects of Rahim, in the color system of Sustenance, and in the religious traditions that later become the great Clans.
Different Interpretations
The Path is not exclusive to one Clan. Azurans interpret devotion through public Testifying: performing great works in one of the three paths and speaking of them as proof of faith. Dorians preserve a contrasting interpretation, recording deeds secretly on stone, metal, and even their bodies so that only Rahim will account them.
The Aspects & the Path
The Six Aspects of Rahim organize the same structure at a divine level. Scarlet embodies Sight, Golden Swiftness, and Azure Strength, while Purple, Emerald, and Orange combine those primary gifts in pairs.
A Measure of Character
At the conclusion of the cycle, Rahim speaks of choosing people who live the Threefold Path. The emphasis shifts away from inherited rank or theatrical proof and toward lives that genuinely embody strength, swiftness, and sight in service to others.
Why It Matters
The Threefold Path links theology to mechanics. It explains why the Realm’s colors, magical abilities, Clans, Aspects, and moral traditions keep resolving into the same three-part pattern—even when later cultures disagree over what the pattern actually demands.
