Cherbur
Leader of the Defenders · Organizer · Protector · Builder
A Practical Leader of the Remainder
Cherbur leads the Defenders, one of the mission-based factions that replaces the old Clan structure after the Wrath. His work centers less on prophecy than on the immediate question of how ordinary people can stay alive.
Protection Through Ingenuity
The Defenders develop tools and methods for survival, drawing especially on discoveries made in Bartan’s workshop. Their inventions repeatedly help the Remainder endure threats they could not meet through conventional magic or military force alone.
Coordinator of the Resistance
Cherbur assigns reconnaissance teams, receives intelligence about Sanctuary forces, and works alongside leaders such as Sarhah, Carnon, and Frieda. He embodies the administrative backbone of the resistance: the person who turns ideals into assignments, logistics, and action.
Beyond the Clan Order
His authority comes from function rather than inherited rank. That makes Cherbur part of the larger political transformation of The Longing, where the Realm gradually learns to organize itself around responsibility and service instead of bloodline.
