Who Is Rufus?

Rufus serves Queen Ellis as chamberlain, but that title only hints at his history. He protected her during the rebellion surrounding her rise to the throne, and the queen herself regards him as a true knight and champion. His loyalty is intensely personal: the safety of the queen and the stability of the kingdom are inseparable in his mind.
