The Battle draws musicians from across the surrounding realms. Punchdrunk Imp opens the competition. Fangs Sinestra croons vampire standards such as “Fly Me to the Tomb.” Gobs ’n Roses, Pix-E, Gnome Doubt, Lol the Troll, Pelican, and many others turn familiar musical traditions into Beandom spectacle.

When Songs Become Spells

Performance and magic frequently overlap. Felgarath sings a ruined arena into a polished monument, the Fell Five use apocalyptic instruments, and several competitors wield stagecraft powerful enough to reshape matter, summon forces, or overwhelm an audience. In this world, musicianship can be entertainment, persuasion, construction, or weaponry.

Bard Cards

Collectors trade illustrated Bard Cards depicting celebrated musicians and their lore. The tradition is central enough that Merlin specifically orders Jackdaw to reserve time and space for trading during the festival. The First Edition companion set contains thirty downloadable cards inspired by Book Six.

Chronicler’s note: Book Six’s performers parody many musical styles, but their talents are real. The comedy comes from the collision between recognizable genres and a world where the wrong note can alter reality.
