The Mind of Rahim
Scripture · Fragmented Record · Earthman and Etherman Traditions
A Nearly Lost Book
The Mind of Rahim is the most important surviving scriptural collection in the Penultimate Dawn world. Messengers of Rahim compiled the words into a larger record, and many copies once circulated before the Great Purge destroyed almost all of them.
Two Surviving Traditions
Jamith’s research identifies two major surviving textual traditions: one associated with Earthmen and one with Ethermen. The copies do not preserve exactly the same material. Teachings accepted by one people may be absent, rejected, or rendered differently in the other.
The Threefold Path
Both traditions speak of strength, swiftness, and sight, but later cultures interpret those teachings differently. Azuran Testifying and Dorian hidden records grow from divergent readings of related passages, demonstrating how small textual differences can reshape whole civilizations.
Hidden Instructions
Later portions of the text preserve practical knowledge as well as theology: prophecies, the histories of the Aspects, the Seven Wraths, clues to the six moons, and instructions concerning Ascension shrines and Soul Cleavers. The book repeatedly proves that scripture in this world is not merely devotional—it is also a map to buried mechanisms of creation.
After the Penultimate Age
By the Book Three epilogue, The Mind of Rahim is preserved in the Realm Museum rather than hidden behind a single Clan’s priesthood. Its movement from controlled relic to public historical artifact symbolizes one of the new Dawn’s most important changes: truth is no longer meant to belong only to gatekeepers.
